Frequently Asked Questions

How long will training take?

Every dog’s progress looks different.
Just like humans, all dogs learn differently and at different rates of speed. After an initial session, more information on estimated training time can be given. It is recommended to book at least 4 training sessions to allow for ample time of teaching your dog, as well as you, methods to continue using when a trainer is not present.

What training methods do you use?

Let’s talk about what your dog needs.
Dependent on what motivates your dog and what their needs are, training methods may vary. During our initial session, we will work together with your dog and discuss what works for your dog and what training methods we will utilize to help your dog succeed.

What breeds of dogs do you train?

Simply put, all dogs!
I have worked with and trained a variety of dog breeds! From large breeds like Cane Corsos, Pitbulls, and German Shepherds to small breeds like Mini Goldendoodles and Mini Aussies with breeds and sizes in between! Aggressive dogs are not initially turned away and no dog is too old to learn new tricks.

How are prices of training broken down?

It’s not just paying for an hour of time.
Paying for the service of dog training is not merely compensating for an hour of the trainer’s time; it’s an investment in the countless hours of learning, experience, and expertise that the trainer has dedicated to understanding and improving the lives of both dogs and their owners. Price also depends on the needs of your dog, aggressiveness, and length of training required.

Do I have to do anything?

Repetition is key to success.
It is highly recommended for follow through and carry-over of learned skills between sessions. As your dog’s human, you are a vital component to helping your dog learn, master, and continue using their skills. The trainer will train you how to work with your dog! Remember, the trainer is only with you for one hour per week, you are with your dog the remaining 167 hours of the week. Practice makes perfect! Homework will be given between sessions.
